CCS - Kattegat/Skagerrak (Dealing with CO2 in the Kattegat/Skagerrak region) was a project consisting of Norwegian and Swedish universities, colleges, R&D departments and county and district councils. The project unveiled the basis for a common infrastructure and common solutions linked to the capture, transportation and storage of CO2 from major effluent points in the region. The project has further unveiled the economic and technological conditions so industry can benefit from such an infrastructure. In this collaboration, top Scandinavian competence was assembled throughout the value chain from effluent and capture to transportation and storage, in order to find common solutions and thus provide a considerable boost to the reduction of C02 effluent in the region.
