The technology for hydrogen and fuel cells is starting to be market ready. A commercial break through has happened in some niche markets. Development of transport is depending on three interdependent corner stones: Infrastructure, Cars and Users. The infrastructure is in place at seven locations in ÖKS and cars can be ordered. Now it is time to mobilize the early adaptors and grow the demand side.

To create such a demand the local and regional authorities and public companies can play an important role as early users and buyers. The NextMove project focuses on cross-border cooperation between these organisations so that they together can reach a scale that is compelling to the car and bus manufacturers.

The project consists of 11 partners in the ÖKS region who will jointly develop a long term collaboration framework, under which hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and a mobile hydrogen fuelling station will be procured. This three year project will widely communicate on the progress and achievements to raise the awareness on this new technology. Additionally, a Scandinavian Road Show will be carried out to attract even more regions and municipalities to participate.
