Can art and creativity create a better society? The role of the creative society as a driving force for growth is increasing the the western world. The project wanted to develop and find new ways to create growth by using the creative sector.
Culture can lead to growth
Culture and creativity has become more evident on the local, regional and national agenda. Local administrations must be better at creating new ways to growth. The project Oresund Region as a Creative Metapol wanted to strenghen the role of culture as a driving force in a sustainabele development by increasing the cooperation between the creative sector, public sector and universities in the region.
Creative projects with focus on young people
The project worked as a lab, where new creative methods were developed and tested to see if the ideas could work and lead to growth. The project focused on projects in the involved municipalities and especially cultural projects involving young people and kids.
The project carried out a number of training sessions, conferences, focus groups, model projects as well mad a study on creative businesses in the region.
Culturemetropol Øresund
One of the main results from the project was the networks the project created. The network for young entreprenuers within the creative sector which has continued its work after the project finished. Another important result is Culturemetropol Øresund, a platform and network among municipalities in the region which strenghens culture as growth potential.
